Hello. My name is Dr Stephen Westgarth and thank you for visiting my website.

I am a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with a private practice based in Darras Hall, Northumberland. I assess and treat children and young people up to 20 years of age.

I qualified as a medical doctor from Newcastle Medical School in 1993 and undertook further medical and psychiatric training, becoming a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2000. I hold a permanent Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatry post in the NHS. This involves managing complex and challenging disorders of children and adolescents’ mental health. I use evidence-based, high quality interventions.
